UVIS CARBON THREADS, FABRICS AND CORDS
UVIS Carbon threads are produced from rayon threads using a special process. Carbon threads are available as either UVIS-N (twist 100-120 turns/m; linear density 70-1600 tex) for the purposes of textile industry or as UVIS-NSH (twist 140-220 turns/m; linear density 100 and 215 tex) for sewing purposes.
UVIS Carbon Thread Characteristics:
Carbon content (%) up to 99,9
Breaking strength of monofilament (GPa) 1,2 - 1,5
Elasticity modulus (%) < 2,5
High elasticity
Electrical resistance (Ohm/m) 30 - 800
can be processed with textile equipment.
Applications:
In the manufacture of multidirectional reinforcement structures
In the production of special purpose articles
In the production of carbon and hybrid fabrics, tapes, nets, knitted fabrics and other materials
For sewing together various materials in the manufacture of multilayer reinforcement structures and structures having complicated shapes and forms
In the manufacture of cords and seals with circular and square cross sections
In the manufacture of flexible textile articles with electric heating
As a reinforcement filler of thermoset, thermoplastic and carbon-carbon composites and carbon-ceramic composites
Medical: In traumatology and in surgery for tendon and ligament endoprosthesis as well as for suture threads.
